This book introduced the history of music, the structure for every music instrument and the sound produced by the nature and human in a fun fact way.
Since this book contain many interesting facts, I would like to tell you some of the examples that I like most. In the aspect of global, during the Second World War , between 1939 and 1945 , many countries in Europe were taken over by the armies of Nazi Germany . But a group of people called Resistance, kept fighting for freedom - helped by the music they heard on the radio. They used a code called Peter Peterkin which used the record of music to transmit a specific message to the group. For examples, waltz could be a warning to flee and a folk song could signal the place and time example , a waltz could be a of an attack . The record must played for at least 1min or it could end in a disaster. This way is very smart as no one will think about a music is a code and no one will tried to block them on the radio. Hence it is successful and defeat the axis.
In the aspect of a orchestra, have you ever wondered about the sign and the meaning of the conductor waving hands to the whole orchestra? It is actually a specific patterns , depending on the timings of the piece of music . Each line waved represents one musical beat . If you were tapping your foot to a piece of music , you'd be tapping along with the beat. Let me show you one as an example, (do the action), this is fast marching music with 2 beat. I think this book is quite good as it explained the different variety of knowledge of music in a visualized way. As you can see, It uses many colourful picture and cute characters to tell, hence the readers are able to understand more easily. Besides, the layout of the book is very creative as the words and the illustrations are placed staggeringly. It makes the book very interesting and attract people to continue reading it. This book has actually broaden my horizon!
